Vintage Moroccan Rug #44553

With leaves and flourishes akin to Persian cloud designs, this antique Moroccan mat is stained with both neutral and brilliant colors. Splashes of golden autumn colors drip down the middle of the cold, stony rug. Rhombic shapes subdivided at their midpoint give the untamed designs a peaceful symmetry. The golden colors begin to evaporate at the lower regions of the rug, replaced by charred diamonds and splattered red leaves, floating above a fire-like wash of deep gold. Grey threads coil through the edge of the rug. Zig-zag black lines encompassing the design echo the classic North African designs of the post-Islamic Byzantium. A truly unique piece of work, this rug will compliment any room.
