Antique Tabriz Rug, Persia, circa 1900 - A classical Persian scalloped medallion with finials floats elegantly within the open golden sand field on this exquisite antique Tabriz. Scalloped cornerpieces approximate the shape of the medallion, while echoing the floral filler motifs in soft blues and mauve. A border of flowerheads constitutes the enclosing border, also retaining the coloration of the field and unifying the overall visual effect.
