Produced in Kashan, this traditional medallion rug is an excellent example of regional design traits, including the scrolling edges defined by vinescrolls and gently-curling split-leaf motifs, which are used around the central medallion and corner pieces. In the Kashan fashion, this rug includes multiple guardbands and reciprocating Shah Abbas-style borders that add to its stately presence.
