Antique Oriental Malayer from Persia, early twentieth centuryA grand hexagonal medallion hovers at the center of the abrashed russet field of this lovely antique Malayer, accompanied only by two vases with flowers, cornerpieces, and triangular lappets along the sides. A series of flowering vases against a pale sand ground comprise the border, picking up and adapting the forms of the field, while priding a framing contrast in color.
