Uzbek Textile, late 19th century - Each pattern is carefully resist dyed on to the threads before the textile is woven resulting in the characteristically indistinct edges prized in ikat fabrics. In addition to colorful medallions and stacked latchhooks, this textile includes contrasting borders with abstract, line-based patterns that form ogival curves.
