A fine mesh of vines and flowers fills and ornaments the intervening space, while the effect of medallions and vines alike coyly suggests larger oval forms as a latent, underlying pattern. The border with its dark ground and denser pattern offers a pleasing contract to the finely wrought detail and transparency of the field.
