Antique Kerman, Persia, circa 1900.An elegant classic Persian design of vinescrolls, palmettes, and cloudbands in shades of sage, burgundy, and mauve undulates gracefully across the soft tan field of this supremely refined antique Kerman. Within the primarily soft coloration, the more richly colored elements appear as sparing accents.  The palmette vinescroll border  varies the design, but using a  similar scale and soft coloration palette that preserves the overall harmony of the composition, while the minor borders with their burgundy accents still furnish the requisite framing effect.
